We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive business growth across the energy, oil & gas, power generation, and industrial manufacturing sectors. This role is ideal for a strategic sales leader with strong technical acumen, proven business development experience, and a passion for building lasting client relationships. The Sales Manager will lead sales strategy, oversee a small team, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to deliver customized technical solutions that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Business Development
Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and market growth goals.
Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across key industrial and energy markets.
Expand existing customer relationships and penetrate new accounts through consultative selling.
Manage sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and performance metrics.
Customer Relationship Management
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring exceptional service and customer satisfaction.
Conduct regular site visits, contract negotiations, and technical reviews.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet technical and budget requirements.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and mentor sales representatives to exceed revenue and KPI targets.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Drive training initiatives to strengthen technical sales capabilities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with engineering, project management, and procurement teams to align technical and commercial deliverables.
Coordinate with operations and service teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer support.
Provide market insights to leadership and product teams for strategic decision-making.
Reporting & Compliance
Maintain CRM accuracy for pipeline tracking, opportunity management, and client records.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, ethical sales practices, and relevant industry standards.
Represent the organization at trade shows, conferences, and industry networking events.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required; MBA preferred.
7+ years of technical sales experience within energy, rotating equipment, power generation, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
3+ years of leadership or team management experience.
Proven track record of achieving multimillion-dollar revenue goals.
Strong network within the energy sector, preferably in the Houston region.
Working knowledge of turbines, rotating equipment, or engineered industrial systems.
Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills:
Understanding of RFQs, EPC contracts, and technical proposal processes.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and commercial specifications.
Strong leadership and team-building skills with high emotional intelligence.
Familiarity with Lean principles or continuous improvement initiatives.
Performance Metrics (KPIs):
Revenue and profitability growth.
Sales pipeline health and conversion rate.
Customer retention and satisfaction.
Proposal win rate and bid quality.
Team quota attainment and professional development milestones.
Working Conditions:
Office-based with periodic visits to manufacturing, client, and project sites.
Travel required for customer meetings, site visits, and industry events.
