The Role



As a

Sales Engineer

, you are responsible for translating customer needs into technically sound, specification-ready solar lighting solutions and helping our sales team win those projects. You work alongside sales reps to understand customer goals, site conditions, and technical constraints, then design lighting layouts using our standard products and produce the technical content that supports proposals and RFP responses.

$85,000 - $100,000 CAD

Solution Support


Using our standard products, design lighting solutions that meet the customers' needs, including product selection and lighting layouts. Collaborate with sales reps to help understand the customer's business goals and technical constraints. Draft technical sections of proposals to assist the sales team in responding to Request for Proposals, clarifying compliance and performance specifications. Draft and refine Guide Specifications to give specifiers the technical details that differentiate our products.

Sales support


Join meetings with customers to answer in-depth technical questions. Create and conduct technical presentations for customers. Attend trade shows to assist the sales team with technical selling and gathering competitive intelligence.

Non-standard and Custom Products


Assist sales with evaluating and defining custom or non-standard opportunities and conferring with leadership in the approval process.

Tactical Competitive Analysis


Support the sales team by evaluating competitive product solutions and communicating our products' strengths over the competitors on technical merits. Work with Marketing and Innovation, compile intelligence on competitors, and determining how to sell against them.



What You Bring




Electrical, Mechanical or related Engineering Degree. Experience with outdoor lighting design, applying the IES recommended practices for outdoor lighting Experience using AGI32 and other lighting design applications Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks Experience interacting with and persuading customers Experience creating proposals Sales experience Presentations abilities - ability to break down difficult concepts and present them to groups that can then learn this information
