Job Description


As the Sales Engineer, you are the technical expert who best understands and articulates Giatec’s products and solutions to Giatec’s customers. You will lead the sales and onboarding efforts of Giatec’s newest product including demonstration of the product, onboarding and providing consultation to customers through Giatec’s consultative onboarding process still in development.

You will also be collaborating with Marketing, Research and Development (R&D), Engineering Solutions, and Business Development teams, and interacting with key customer technical decision-makers to ensure Giatec’s products include technical solutions that accurately address customer needs.
Ideally, you are someone who comes from a more technical role, specifically in the concrete industry and looking to pivot into a long-term career of consultative sales and/or business development. You have experience in technical sales and/or customer-facing roles in a support/service function. This role will not carry a heavy sales quota for at least the first year in the role as you learn the sales process and contribute to its evolution.

This role can be a remote position if you are from within the concrete industry and live in North America.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Properly qualify inbound customer requests.
  • Prepare sales proposals.
  • Provide continuous feedback to product team on key features and values perceived by users.
  • Onboard the customer onto Giatec software platform.
  • Provide regular technical support to customers on the system.
  • Work dynamically with Director of Business Development to identify opportunities for growth and value creation.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development to develop marketing material and sales decks based on customer feedback.
  • Provide input and materials for user manuals or customer support documentation.
  • Provide consultative guidance to customers that are utilizing the product to maximize value to end-users.
  • Represent Giatec to promote products and build client relationships at industry events/trade shows.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and developments.
  • Provide weekly reporting to Director of Business Development and Director of R&D.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a technical function.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in customer-facing role.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience as a Concrete Technician or an equivalent experience working within the concrete industry.
  • Build and sustain strong relationship and possess excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English.
  • Previous technical sales OR support/customer service experience.
  • Proven working knowledge and solid understanding of the concrete industry.
  • Able to travel within North America (i.e. USA/Canada) up to 25% of the time.
  • Adaptable, Self-motivated, Creative and Meticulous.

NICE-TO-HAVE:
  • Possess experience working with concrete operations software (i.e. QC, Dispatch, Batch).
  • Has proficiency in other languages.
  • Possess experience working with a customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Experience in selling or servicing SAAS solutions.
  • Possess coding experience.
  • Passion to revolutionize the construction and concrete industry.
