Sales Desk Representative

Regina, SK, CA, Canada

Job Description

About the Company and Position:

Infinite Water is a 12-year old, accredited Saskatchewan-based water treatment company that markets, installs, and services residential water filtration systems province-wide. While our business is not limited to rural water treatment, farmers are our main customers as the owners are multi-generation "farm kids" and Saskatchewan farming is in our blood. A successful applicant is one that understands small-town or rural Saskatchewan life.

We are experiencing high growth (over 40% YOY) and need a full-time sales representative. This is not an outside sales or high-travel role - the majority of the work is done in the office, and no solicitation is done as all of our leads are incoming.

Our success is strongly attributed to our close rapport with customers, ongoing service/communication, and hiring high-quality people. 50% of our new business comes from referrals, so a successful rep will organically produce referral business by going "above and beyond" for the client.

Full training and certifications provided. We do not require specific water treatment experience. Your ability to build rapport, communicate effectively, work in an organized manner, and build long-term relationships with clients is much more important. Strong sales and interpersonal skills are a must.

Employees have the ability to work from the office for full-time hours, or from home making their own hours (different compensation packages apply).

Availability to take calls from prospective clients in the evening and on weekends are important as you would be holding the "lead" cell phone and our responsiveness while clients are shopping around is essential. Evening/weekend work typically amounts to just a few hours per week - not "on call 24/7."

Employees are expected to take ongoing training through our local water quality organization, and attend 3-5 out of town tradeshows per year (paid travel/overnight involved). Occasionally, it is requested that we visit clients on-site, so some travel and face to face appointments are required (company vehicle provided).

Responsibilities:

- Answer lead calls and follow up on marketing leads, answer questions and build long-term relationships, recommend/design water treatment systems, provide quotes to customers, develop referral base
- Work closely with management for the first 3 months to learn the ins and outs of our processes, equipment, and water treatment knowledge
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective account management
- Conduct occasional in-home meetings (2-4x/week max) to test water, perform a site analysis, meet with clients
- Utilize CRM tools to track sales activities, lead nurturing, and manage customer information
- Attend regular training sessions to develop knowledge base of water treatment systems, new equipment/technology, sales/business training, etc. including online certification classes
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales process including a pre-sale checklist and post-sale followup, including building referral network

Requirements:

- Proven experience in sales, preferably with a background in ag or rural life
- Strong business development skills with a track record of achieving sales targets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships with clients
- Must have valid driver's license and clean criminal record check
- Must be accessible in evenings and weekends to take calls from leads as they come in
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional service to clients

Benefits:

- Health Spend Account

- RRSP Matching

- Paid All-Inclusive Trip (if targets met)

- Volume Bonuses and high potential for commission income

This is a unique sales role in that 80% of it is working from your desk/phone/computer rather than being in the field. In-person appointments are required from time to time (complex water situation, commercial jobs, etc.), but due to the nature of our business the majority of our business is done online or through the phone.

100% of leads are inbound - there is no cold calling, soliciting, etc. with this role, although we do participate in trade shows. Successful sales reps build strong customer relationships that develop their customer base through referrals and referral business brings the strongest bonus compensation, but all leads are warm and provided by the company.

This position includes a base salary plus commission. Experienced reps who prefer to switch to straight commission, however, enjoy the flexibility of being able to work from home and make their own hours (in addition to higher commissions).

Start date is flexible.
