Role:

Individuals in this position will provide an exceptional level of customer service account management, and innovative solutions that differentiate Sysco in the marketplace. Additionally, this position will be responsible to seek out remote business to business opportunities to compliment overall market penetration within each community. This role is responsible for the account management and growth of independent sales with a territory size between $4-6 million in annual sales. In addition to the role, it will encompass driving sales and awareness within the Northwest Territories and focus on developing business in Indigenous communities .

Role Responsibilities:

  • Articulate and demonstrate the Sysco value proposition to engage new customers at the end consumer level.
  • Seek out and secure partnership opportunities with community leadership including Chief\xe2\x80\x99s, Band Councils, and Economic Development Corporations that exist throughout Northern Indigenous communities
  • Seek out and onboard new customers to Sysco products, services, and promotions using consultative selling methods
  • Evaluate customer business needs and analyze market trends to develop customer centric product and service solutions
  • Leverage Sales technology and business resources to provide end to end sales consultative services
  • Oversight to pricing management and strategy for the territory
  • Track activities and results, collaborate on opportunities process through use of Salesforce (Sysco\xe2\x80\x99s CRM tool)
  • Maybe required to work non-traditional hours, while also providing a level of individual autonomy to support and successfully meet customer needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in sales
  • A background in Indigenous relations and/or in-community living an asset
  • Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent experience; CPSA designation is preferred
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships and grow sales
  • Strong financial and business acumen and ability to properly plan and execute business plans
  • Demonstrated skills in consultative selling, networking and negotiations
  • Strong communication skills; ability to effectively communicate community members, community leadership groups, as well as other with internal and external teams
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to execute multiple initiatives at the same time
  • Ability to learn the use of proprietary CRM tools for planning and forecasting sales growth
  • Ability to understand and manage compliance to contracts
  • Solid analytical problem-solving skills, including familiarity with analyzing reports and deriving insights from data
  • Proactive, self-directed, with the ability to structure a weekly schedule to be successful
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license in good standing with access to a vehicle is required
  • This position requires air travel including periods of time away from home. Travel in the north is susceptible to weather resulting in potential travel delays and cancelations.
  • This position requires availability to travel throughout the year and overnight stay as required
