CLASSIFICATION: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPNA)

LANGUAGE: English Essential and spoken French

HOURS OF WORK: Day; Evening; Night; Rotating; Subject to change due to operational requirements

SALARY: $29.33 to $31.50 per hour

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide nursing care to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from an approved school for Licensed Practical Nurses.
• Must be currently registered with the N.B. Association of Licensed Practical Nurses.
• Geriatric focused.
• Experience with geriatrics, Alzheimer's and other types of dementia patients.
• The candidate must have successfully completed the ANBLPN requirements for medication administration including injectables. LPN's who have not passed medications in the past 24 months must successfully complete 6 RN-supervised medication passes to be deemed qualified.
• May be required to float throughout other Health and Aging Units within St. Josephs.
• Ability to function within the recognized scope of practice for LPN.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
• Demonstrates initiative, good judgement and the ability to set priorities.
• Demonstrates effective communication skills.
• High regard for confidentiality.
• Relevant work experience as Licensed Practical Nurses within the past five years.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.
• Written and spoken competence in English (B2.1 or Advanced) and spoken competence in French (B1.2 or Intermediate Plus) are required.
