Job Overview


We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our trucking team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment and driver files are maintained according to safety regulations and Company policies. Ensuring drivers logs are maintained. Maintaining fleet maintenance in accordance with company policy. Coordinate with our in-house shop mechanics to schedule any repairs. Handle driver on road issues with breakdowns, find cost effective solutions to rectify on road issues. Coordinate with dispatch regarding fleet availability and solutions. Assist our mechanics with ordering and bringing parts that might be needed for repairs. Handle on call issues drivers may have after office shift.

The job is from Monday to Friday 9-5pm with weekends on call only.

Previous experience is required. Class 1 license preferred but not mandatory.

Requirements



Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in a construction or industrial environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey safety information to diverse audiences. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify potential hazards and implement effective solutions. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong leadership qualities.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
