The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery (Advantage Learning Solutions) is looking for an experienced

Safety & Equipment Training Instructor

to join our team in

Fort McMurray, Alberta

. As an Instructor, you will facilitate professional and engaging safety training courses for a diverse range of audiences and experience levels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate in-depth knowledge of instructor and training fundamentals and best practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As the Safety & Equipment Training Instructor, your key responsibilities will include:


Facilitate training sessions for groups or individuals at a variety of experience levels, including external customers and internal employees Share expertise on a variety of topics related to safety and operating mobile equipment Build strong relationships with customers and ensure their needs are understood and met Work closely with Sales team to ensure market strategies are implemented effectively Maintain accurate and up to date course records Monitor course material inventories at a branch level and report deficiencies to the Operations Manager as needed

Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:


At least two years of experience providing instruction and facilitating safety training in a group setting Certification to teach Energy Safety Canada's H2S, Confined Space, CSO, Elevated Work Platform, and/or Fall Protection courses is a strong asset Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) A valid driver's license and a reliable method of transportation WHMIS certification and Level 1 First Aid certification Understanding of Alberta legislative and regulatory framework relating to OH&S Equipment operation experience for at least one of the following: forklifts, aerial platforms, skid steers, loaders, excavators and/or cranes is an asset Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills Self-starter with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision Availability to accommodate a flexible work schedule (5 days per week), including weekends, to accommodate customer schedules as required

The base pay range for this role is: $85,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
