We are currently recruiting for a Safety & Security Coordinator, based out of Edmonton. This position will start as a temporary work-term, minimum of 6 months, with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Manager, Safety & Security, the successful candidate will provide support of our safety and security management system.
Role and Responsibilities:

  • Administration of safety data including incidents, hazards, inspection reports, and statistics into the eCompliance Safety Management software
  • Maintaining and updating customer requirements and compliance monitoring – ISN, Complyworks, and Avetta
  • Provide safety supplies and protective equipment to Spartans and Spartan locations, as well as issue vouchers and purchase orders for necessary safety items
  • Schedule safety training for employees and conduct new-employee orientations
  • Schedule alcohol and drug testing for employees
  • Participation in safety committee meetings
  • Maintenance of safety training development database for employees (Articulate)
  • Inspections of first aid kits and AEDS on a scheduled basis
  • Recognizing and promoting safe behavior
  • Other various administrative tasks, as required

Qualifications and Skills:
  • 5+ years of administrative experience
  • Experience in eCompliance Safety Management software considered an asset
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • High degree of discretion and confidentiality
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials
  • Excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills
  • Has situational awareness, ability to “think on one’s feet”
  • An optimistic problem solver, takes the view most issues can be solved
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
