Polaris Management Services Corporation is seeking a Safety Advisor/Safety Officer to assist in maintaining a safe work environment and maintaining compliance at their Ready-Mix Concrete plants in Western Newfoundland. Polaris Management Services Corporation operates three Ready-Mix concrete plant locations (Atlantic Ready Mix Limited, Bay St. George Ready Mix Ltd., and SWC Ready Mix Ltd.). This position will be based in Corner Brook, NL and require travel to the worksites in both Port aux Basques and Stephenville.

This person should be able to work independently as well as in a team environment, is self motivated, and is comfortable and skilled in a computerized work environment. Candidates must maintain a valid driver's licence and provide both an acceptable police record check and a drivers abstract prior to hiring.

The ideal candidate will possess a relevant certificate or diploma in Health and Safety Management or equivalent. Candidates should possess 5 years experience in a safety related field.

The successful applicant will be required to oversee all facets of the safety program for Polaris Management Services Corporation and the subsidiary businesses such as monitoring requirements for compliance reporting, COR certification, assisting managers to ensure driver logbooks and pre-trip inspections are complete and in compliance, assisting in implementing existing safe work procedures and development of new procedures as needed, facilitating toolbox talks with employees, and assisting employees in workplace inspections. Individuals will be responsible for maintaining a friendly and positive attitude while interacting with both employees and customers and may be required to perform other administrative duties to assist as required.

Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
