Advisor's can be found in our Regina and Saskatoon offices and involves both in-office work and field work.

The Training Technician role is well suited to a self-motivated individual with a positive and professional demeanor, who is committed to learning about health and safety in the construction industry and

teaching others

. The ability to utilize technology with ease, adapt to change,

effectively

collaborate and communicate with others, and add to a positive workplace, will be key to success in this role.

This position delivers training in person and online so being able to engage effectively with adult learners in both settings and create a positive learning experience is key.

Job Summary




This position is responsible for the

delivery of instructor-led safety training courses

;

assisting with reviewing and developing

existing or new courses and programs; and

providing

professional, quality

safety related customer service

to the membership and other identified customers.

Responsibilities



Provide accurate and efficient delivery of safety training courses. + Prepare to instruct: review course content and learning objectives; set up classroom as required.
+ Instruct: teach the course as outlined in the course guide; employ appropriate questioning techniques and other effective instructional strategies; use training aids to enhance learning.
+ Evaluate: Evaluate the performance of other Training Technicians going through the trainer certification process and provide feedback; make recommendations for changes to course content; assist with the review of occupational health and safety legislation/regulations and safety standards to identify implications for SCSA courses or programs as assigned.
Administration: maintain a record of class participants; send relevant course documents to Administrative Services to ensure accurate and efficient processing of courses; evaluate LSE Proficiencies. Provide superior customer service; conduct follow-up calls with students when needed; answer student questions. Provide effective marketing and delivery of programs and services in the classroom setting. Perform other related duties as assigned.

You will have knowledge in the following areas:



Adult Education Customer Service Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, video conferencing platform i.e. Zoom) Public Speaking and facilitation. Knowledge in Occupational Health and Safety legislation and Worker's Compensation Board policy is a bonus.

You will bring the following Skills:



Accuracy and consistency in presenting course material. Effective customer service, interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills . A strong independent work ethic. Team player and collaborative. Quick learner. Ability to assist in research, evaluation, and development of solutions to customer service needs

Required Education/Certifications & Experience



Three years of an adult education training environment. Customer service experience. Certificate or diploma in Adult Education. Experience in construction or a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or National Health and Safety Administrator (NHSA) designation is a bonus. . A suitable combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Working Conditions



Primarily sedentary office work, performance of repetitive motions and use of general office equipment as well as navigation of construction sites (indoors and outdoors) as needed. Some flexibility is necessary and expected regarding the hours of work. Regular travel including overnight travel within the province.

Total Compensation Details:



Starting annual salary will be between the minimum and mid-point of the range ($59,015 - $73,765) Health Benefits start from your first day and the monthly insurance premium is paid by SCSA (single or family coverage available). Upon successful completion of your 6 month probation you will receive a 2% salary increase and be eligible to participate in the contributary RRSP program. Support provided for learning and development. We want you to grow with us! The Social Committee hosts several fun activities throughout the year including summer BBQ's.




Hours of Work:


Monday to Thursday: 7:45am - 4:30pm and the Friday worked is 7:45am - 4:15pm. Every other Friday off.
