This is a

Full-Time Temporary Contract ending June 2026.



Responsibilities





Develop, coordinate, and implement programs and services to enhance the District's Safe and Caring Schools policy and regulations. Supervise the execution of Safe Schools programs to ensure compliance with established policies and regulations. Act as a liaison with the Ministry of Education, RCMP, MCFD, and other key stakeholders. Ensure strict adherence to Safe Schools policies and regulations in all program activities. Collaborate with internal and external partners to create a supportive and secure school environment. Provide training and education to school staff and stakeholders on Safe Schools policies, procedures, and best practices. Develop and oversee protocols for responding to safety incidents within school settings. Review the effectiveness of the Safe Schools programs and recommend improvements. Prepare and submit reports on the status and impact of Safe Schools programs to relevant authorities.




QUALIFICATIONS





Education & Experience





Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related discipline and three years of relevant experience with District Level student discipline and Violence Threat Risk Assessment (VTRA)/ Assessment of Risk to Others (ARTO) models. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Able to work closely with policing agencies and ability to pass enhanced security clearance. Strong knowledge and experience with the provincial School Safety Alert System and Incident Command Management.






Knowledge, Skills, Abilities





Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate and build trust with a variety of partners. Strong formal leadership experience, preferably at the district level. Commitment to inclusion and belonging and building a caring and respectful workplace. Creative problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking. Acts with accountability, responsibility and transparency in the use of public funds. Proficiency using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to exercise tact and discretion and maintain a calm, courteous approach to sensitive interpersonal situations.

The salary range for this position is $90,291 - $112,864 per year with comprehensive benefits package and Municipal Pension.


Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of qualifications and ability to meet the key requirements of the job, and consideration of internal equity comparisons. The midpoint of the range represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the position.
