Position Overview:

The

Runner / Food Prep

supports daily kitchen and catering operations by assisting with food preparation, receiving and stocking deliveries, and maintaining an organized, clean work environment. This role is ideal for individuals eager to learn and grow in the food service industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, and properly store all kitchen deliveries following food safety standards Maintain organized storage areas including coolers, freezers, and dry storage Assist Lead Cook and food stations with basic food prep (washing, cutting, portioning, assembling) Support catering events with setup, breakdown, and transport of supplies and food items Assist with restocking stations during service periods Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of prep areas, equipment, and storage spaces Dispose of waste and recycling according to health and safety standards Follow all food handling, hygiene, and safety procedures Communicate effectively with kitchen team to support efficient workflow Perform other kitchen support duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Ability to lift, push, and carry 30-50 lbs Positive attitude and strong team-player mentality Willingness to learn and take direction Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Interest in gaining experience in the food service industry Food Handling Certification is an asset
