Ruminant Nutrition Internship
Wellington/Waterloo
We are seeking a summer intern that will be working in product development trials, focused on calf starter performance, summer dairy premix evaluation or fiber digestion additives. The candidate will gain valuable feed industry experience, and will perform data collection on farm, using observation tools and measuring equipment. The position will last 3 to 4 months and will involve independent travel and group discussions with the dairy team that will translate into valuable animal performance information.
Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Contributing to develop formulas to improve growth, performance and health of calves and lactating cows
- On farm observations, measures, and data collection
- Data management with feedback for on farm changes
- Participation on team calls and visits to facilities
- Commitment to maintaining a safe & healthy working environment
- Performing exceptional customer service duties
- Enrolled in a degree or diploma program in animal science or agriculture
- Ability to work outdoors, independently, as well as contribute to a team
- Experience in the agriculture industry would be an asset
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Drivers license is required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills
