Are you ready to contribute to a healthcare legacy that makes a difference?The Complex Continuing Care/Rehab/Palliative is a 36-bed unit. The RPN works with an interdisciplinary team consisting of RNs, PSWs, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Rehab Assistants as well as a Recreation Therapist. The RPN will provide pain and symptom management, activities of daily living assistance and end of life care to the patient and emotional and psychological support to the patient and their extended family. In Complex Continuing Care, the RPN individualizes care and optimizes health of adults with complex medical conditions and co-morbid conditions through evidence-informed interventions. The RPN uses best practice guidelines to direct their practice with their patients.QUALIFICIATIONSThe ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification
• Medication administration course and experience in the last 2 years
• Previous and/or current experience with and demonstrated knowledge of Complex Continuing, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care clients\' needs
• Proven ability to deal empathetically with Complex Continuing, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care clients and their families
• Palliative care or hospice training courses
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history is a requirement of this position

ASSETS

• Gerontology or equivalent course
• Experience using FIM assessment techniques
• Palliative Care Courses
• Bilingual - English and French

• Hourly rate of pay $36.33 to $37.05, vacation accrual starting at two (2) weeks per year, with an additional 14% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of paid vacation. Paid vacation percentage increases throughout your tenure.

HOURS OF WORKPermanent Casual. Shifts include, days, nights, weekends and statutory holidays. As a casual employee you are required to submit availability by the 1st of each month, mainly call in sick coverage and vacation relief.
