Position Purpose

Minimum Qualifications
You must provide your own personal equipment: boots, eyewear, layering clothes and gloves. The Corporation will provide jacket and snow pants.
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent;
Previous supervisory experience;
Competent UTV/ATV operator;
Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills to deal effectively with the general public;
Valid Class G Driver's Licence and satisfactory Drivers Abstract
Police Vulnerable Sector Screening (PVSC); deemed as satisfactory by the Town

Position Summary
Responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations to achieve a high standard of safety, maintenance, cleanliness, and technical operation and to provide a high quality experience for all users of the ROC Winter Operations.
Responsibilities
Operation of all facility equipment in a safe and appropriate manner to ensure the safety of all patrons and employees;
Directs and oversees seasonal staff on and off the hill;
Performs snowmaking duties including start up of snow guns and pumps, regular checks and shut down;
Makes recommendations to the supervisor for operational changes and/or improvements;
May assist in planning, supervising, staffing and scheduling as directed;
Assists in overseeing and supervising grooming of the hill, snowmaking, lift maintenance etc.
Uses a proactive approach to educate the public on the safe and appropriate use of the facilities;
Provides ongoing maintenance and cleaning;
Clears snow, ice and/or debris from sidewalks/grounds and fire exits as required;
Maintains interior and exterior of facility as necessary;
Reports any equipment problems/failures to the supervisor immediately;
Responds to inquiries and/or complaints from the general public when necessary;
Assists with the coordination of special events as required;
Set up and take down of tables and chairs for operations and events as needed;
Keeps entire facility trash and litter free;
Performs minor repairs and/or maintenance as required;
Performs security check of building including interior and exterior doors as required;
Ensures all machines and equipment are shut down, locked and guests have left the facility at the end of operations;
Follows all ROC safety, operating and maintenance procedures and policies;
Communicates any problems or issues immediately to supervisor;
Ensures that the approved operating procedures are followed in accordance with the lift department protocol and performs all tasks safely as per Health and Safety standards and Regulations;
Lead and/or attends daily crew briefings, paying close attention to details and instructions;
Follows all applicable operating procedures, including pre-start up activities, check lists, shut down procedures and documentation, equipment maintenance and cleaning;

Skill/Knowledge Requirements
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent;
Previous supervisory experience;
Previous experience in snowmaking, grooming and carpet lift operations is an asset;
Competent UTV/ATV operator;
Skill and knowledge in the use of all related maintenance equipment;
Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills to deal effectively with the general public;
Ability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to perform strenuous physical duties in winter conditions and to work in and withstand severe cold and adverse weather conditions;
Thorough working knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations and WHMIS training;
Valid Class G Driver's Licence and satisfactory Drivers Abstract
