Position Overview
We are looking for a
passionate and skilled Robotics Coach
to join our growing team on a part-time, contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and building competitive robotics teams.
You will work with students aged
7-18
, helping them develop technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence while preparing for robotics competitions.
Key Responsibilities
Teach and coach students (ages 8-19) preparing for robotics competitions such as
FIRA
and
RoboCup
Instruct students in:
Python programming
Machine vision & image processing
Robotics systems and algorithms
Support hands-on projects using
LEGO Robotics kits, Raspberry Pi
, and similar platforms
Introduce
3D design and mechanical modeling
(Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar tools)
Guide students through robot design, building, testing, and iteration
Manage lesson content and classroom activities
Communicate with parents through class announcements and session updates
Submit session reports after each class
Provide individualized student progress reports after every 30 hours of instruction
Participate in workshops, demos, and academy events
Qualifications & Skills
Proficiency in
Python
Experience with
machine vision / image processing
(asset)
Familiarity with
C/C++
(asset)
Experience with
3D design tools
(Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
Background in
robotics, AI, engineering, or STEM education
(preferred)
Prior experience in
FIRA, RoboCup, or similar competitions
(strong asset)
Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
Ability to manage and motivate student teams
English required

French or Mandarin is an asset
Schedule & Compensation
Part-time contractor role
3-24 teaching hours per week
, based on performance and student demand
Hourly rate: $25-$50/hour
, depending on teaching quality and class size
