Avestec is a Vancouver-based technology company specializing in advanced flying robotic systems for industrial inspection. We design, develop, and manufacture proprietary UAVs that operate in challenging environments, delivering innovative inspection solutions to clients across the energy sector.

Position Overview



We are looking for a motivated Robotics Engineer to join our robotics team and support the full lifecycle of our UAV systems--from mechanical design to QC, and flight testing. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience with drones, mechanical design, and real-world robotics deployment.

You will work directly with senior engineers to develop advanced robotics systems and payloads for industrial asset inspection. A suitable candidate will be responsible for the mechanical and mechatronics aspects of our cutting-edge robotics systems.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and design mechanical components and systems from initial concept to full product launch Integrate, test and troubleshoot robotic systems Collaborate in cross-functional teams to support robotics development Improve and redesign existing mechanical designs Create detailed engineering drawings for manufacturing Perform high quality engineering analysis and calculations, including thermodynamics and solid mechanics Perform CNC machining, 3D printing and mechanical assembly Document and record project progress

Required Qualifications



Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Physics or related field. Strong proficiency with Solidworks and mechanical design Hands-on experience with robotic systems and assembly Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and organize Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience working with hand and machine tools

Preferred Skills



Experience with UAVs, robotics, or ROVs Knowledge of flight dynamics, solid mechanics and mechanical components Experience working with motors, actuators and robotic sensors Working knowledge of robotics controls systems and electronics
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $4,000.00-$5,000.00 per month
