The Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BSPC) is an Acciona Ghella general partnership to deliver a 5.7 km extension of the Millennium Line, from VCC Clark Station to Broadway and Arbutus. Once complete, it will provide fast, frequent and convenient service to B.C.'s second largest jobs center, world-class health services, an emerging innovation and research hub, and growing residential communities.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented

Road Works Coordinator

to provide vital administrative and technical support to our Road Works and Civil Engineering teams. The ideal candidate will be proactive, efficient, and skilled in communication, organization, and multitasking.

In this role, you will handle a variety of administrative and coordination tasks, including managing Excel spreadsheets, Word documents, and other project-related records. You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth planning and execution of road maintenance, construction, and repair projects by overseeing documentation, permits, communications, and scheduling.

Additionally, the Road Works Coordinator will provide technical engineering support to ensure all construction activities comply with relevant engineering standards, codes, specifications, and drawings. Responsibilities include planning and coordination with designers and subcontractors, quantity tracking, and progress reporting.

This role also involves collaboration with other departments--such as Quality, Safety, and Environmental--to support daily construction reporting and assist Superintendents with site management and project delivery.

The Road Works Coordinator reports directly to the Lead Road Works Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:



Prepare and maintain detailed construction work plans and look-ahead schedules. Ensure that safety, quality, and environmental standards are implemented and maintained throughout all phases of construction. Maintain regular communication with field supervision and participate actively in daily site activities. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of project plans, specifications, schedules, production targets, and procedures related to changes, extra work, claims, and costing. Assist Superintendents with the interpretation of plans and specifications. Administer field contracts and subcontracts, including the verification of payment quantities. Perform quantity take-offs and prepare purchase requisitions. Maintain a detailed daily log documenting progress, delays, lost time, field changes, and conditions impacting performance or future work. Conduct time studies to monitor and analyze crew and equipment productivity. Coordinate and assist field surveys and layout operations. Perform project-specific duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. Handle clerical and administrative tasks in support of field operations. Collaborate with and provide support to other teams within the Road Works Department, coordinating as needed with other departments to ensure smooth project execution.

Experience/Qualifications:



Experience with earthworks construction, previous tunneling experience an asset. Minimum 1 year of experience in office coordination, preferably in road works, construction, or public works administration. High school diploma or equivalent required. Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is an asset. Proficient to advanced in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook. Working knowledge of CAD and Revit is an asset. Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, both verbal and written. Flexible, adaptable, and collaborative team player with a positive attitude. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse, multicultural environments. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision Thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven settings. Consistently demonstrates professionalism, courtesy, and discretion in all communications. Proven ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining high performance standards. Valid Driver's License.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
