Job Description

Seeking reliable and dedicated nurses for a long term, night time home care position caring for our 7 year old daughter with congenital myopathy. Currently looking to fill 1-2 nights per week.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario, registered with RPNAO/ RNAO, have CPR/ First Aid, and obtain police vulnerable sector check. Experience with young children (professionally or personally). Willingness to learn and follow parents' directions. Excellent communication skills and positive attitude.
Skills Needed:

Tracheostomy: suctioning; trach changes; trach care. Ventilator: knowledge of Trilogy vent: circuit assembly/ problem solving; alarm trouble shooting; positioning; humidifier trouble shooting. Oxygen: use of oxygen tanks and concentrator. CPR and first aid for children.
Training:

Experience with trachs and vents preferred but not necessary. Parents will provide orientation shifts. McMaster Children's Hospital or SickKids will provide trach and vent courses (2 days of training). Courses will be reimbursed for after 3 months probationary period.
Pay:

RPNs-$45/hour RNs- $48/ hour Raises provided after probationary period (based on positive performance.) Potential to earn raises based on positive performance Hired as independent contractors so no deductions.
Hours of Work:

All shifts are 10:00pm-6:00am and are awake shifts Parents are home during shifts. Location is in Guelph.
