NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: REGISTERED NURSE - Chemotherapy
Primary Site: Stratford
Temporary Part-Time
REPORTS TO: Manager, Regional Pharmacy and Chemotherapy
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $39.07 to $56.00 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
BLS required
Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provincial Standardized Course
EXPERIENCE:
Recent clinical experience (minimum 2 years) in Critical Care, Emergency, Chemotherapy and/or Medicine preferred
Experience administering chemotherapy and/or nursing in the oncology area preferred
ABILITIES:
Ability to perform venepuncture, blood transfusion, assist physician with medical procedures
Demonstrated proficiency in central line management and vascular access devices an asset
Participates in annual upgrades in oncology nursing skills and certification courses
Ability to plan, prioritize and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrates respectful behaviour and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Demonstrates knowledge and commitment to patient and staff safety
Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications preferred
Ability to provide patient/family education and emotional support
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
Preferred Training:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or recognized equivalent
Certified Oncology Nursing Certificate CON (C)
DeSouza Oncology certification
