Apercu du poste



L'equipe d'experts en sane mentale sera chargee d'examiner les documents et les observations des demandeurs et du Service correctionnel du Canada afin d'enqueter et de presenter leurs conclusions a la Cour superieure de justice de l'Ontario ou a la Cour superieure du Quebec.



Responsabilites



Participer a toute orientation ou formation requise, notamment en ce qui concerne le Protocole, les technologies de l'information et les exigences en matiere de securite.



Examiner et evaluer.



Soumissions des demandeurs.



Soumissions du ministere de la Justice.



Documentation du dossier du demandeur au Service correctionnel du Canada versee dans la base de donnees.



Determiner si le demandeur est considere comme ayant recu un diagnostic de maladie mentale grave, lequel a ete signale au Service correctionnel du Canada et a eu des repercussions sur lui conformement a la definition du groupe.



Rediger des rapports contenant des constatations et des conclusions concernant l'admissibilite du demandeur et tout autre prejudice identifie dans la grille des dommages-interets incluse dans le Protocole.



Cooperer avec l'administrateur, au besoin, pour faciliter l'echange d'informations et la remise des rapports au tribunal et a l'administrateur dans les delais impartis (jours suivant la reception du dossier de demande), ainsi que pour d'autres questions administratives, comme la facturation.



Se conformer a toutes les directives, orientations et exigences emises par l'expert principal en sante mentale, conformement a ses fonctions et obligations en matiere de surveillance et de suivi du processus d'evaluation.



Fournir son propre espace de bureau, les fournitures et les ressources necessaires pour s'acquitter des roles et responsabilites inclus dans le protocole. (comme une connexion Internet securisee)


Qualifications





Doit etre titulaire d'un permis d'exercice en regle aupres de l'ordre ou de l'association approprie(e) selon sa discipline professionnelle et son lieu de residence.



Capacite a interpreter et a analyser des donnees cliniques complexes, a fournir une evaluation a partir de donnees ecrites et a rendre des decisions faisant autorite en s'appuyant sur ses connaissances et son experience professionnelles.



Doit posseder des connaissances specialisees en psychopathologie et en troubles mentaux et comportementaux, y compris l'etiologie et les processus diagnostiques (connaissance des criteres du DSM et des maladies mentales graves), l'evaluation des besoins et des modalites de traitement, ainsi que le pronostic medical.



Doit posseder au moins deux annees d'experience dans le domaine de la sante medico-legale, de la sante en milieu carceral ou de la prestation de soins psychiatriques.



Une experience en matiere d'evaluation des programmes d'invalidite a caractere medical est un atout.



Le travail doit etre effectue depuis le lieu d'affaires du gestionnaire principal/expert au Canada.



La maitrise des systemes d'information informatises, d'Internet, des applications Microsoft Office et des tableurs electroniques est requise.



Le bilinguisme (francais et anglais) est requis.

Calian PSP is looking for a part-time,Bilingual Mental Health Expert (MHE)! This is a great, remote opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team! We offer flexible hours and competitive wages.


Position Overview





The MHE team will be responsible for reviewing documents and submissions made by claimants and by Correctional Service of Canada to inquire into and report to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice or to the Superior Court of Quebec their findings and conclusions.


Responsibilities





Participating in any required orientation or training, including with respect to the Protocol, IT, and security requirements.



Reviewing and evaluating.



Claimants' submissions.



Department of Justice submissions



Claimant's Correctional Service of Canada file documentation filed in the database.



Determining whether the claimant is considered to have had a Serious Mental Illness diagnosis which was reported to Correctional Service Canada and impacted the claimant as described according to the class definition.



Completing reports with findings and conclusions respecting the claimant's eligibility and any other harm identified in the Damages Grid included in the Protocol.



Cooperating with the Administrator as required to facilitate the exchange of information and the delivery of reports to the Court and the Administrator within predetermined deadlines days of receipt of a claim file, and other administrative matters, such as invoicing.



Complying with all direction, guidance and requirements issued by the Lead Mental Health Expert consistent with duties and obligations for the oversight and monitoring of the assessment process.



Provide own office space, supplies, and resources as required to carry out roles and responsibilities included in the Protocol. (such as a secure internet connection)


Qualifications





Must have current practicing registration (good standing) with the appropriate College/Association based on professional discipline and location:



Ability to interpret and analyze complex clinical information, provide an assessment from written data, and render authoritative decisions using professional knowledge and experience.



Must have specialized knowledge of psychopathology and mental and behavioral disorders, including aetiology and diagnostic processes (knowledge of DSM criteria and Serious Mental Illness), assessment of treatment needs and treatment modalities and medical prognosis.



Must have 2+ years of experience in the field of forensic health, correctional health, and/or the provision of psychiatric care.



Adjudication experience with medically based disability programs is an asset.



The work must be carried out from the Lead Manager/Expert's place of business within Canada.



Proficiency using computerized information systems, internet, Microsoft Office applications, and electronic spreadsheets is required.



Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
