Tasks

Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team Collect blood, tissue or other samples from patients Coordinate patient care Evaluate patient care and progress Examine the results of the tests Implement an interdisciplinary plan of care Interpret medical test results Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems Order medical diagnostic or clinical tests Perform diagnostic tests Plan patient care Ensure infection control Care for, assess and monitor the health of newborns and refer infants to appropriate medical services as required Conduct routine laboratory tests and sample analyses Manage labour and spontaneous normal deliveries Provide advice and guidance regarding care for newborns and young infants Provide primary, full-course, care to women and their babies during pregnancy, labour, birth and the post-natal period including monitoring the health of mother and baby Advise patients on health care Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures Conduct patient interviews, physical assessments and take medical histories
