We are looking for a professional and ambitious Risk Specialist to join our Risk Engineering team. The successful candidate will be adept at conducting risk assessments of commercial property risks to identify risks/exposures and sharing this expertise with their underwriting partners. How you will create impact:

Conducting risk assessments of commercial property risks to identify risks/exposures and sharing this expertise with their underwriting partners.

Providing recommendations for loss prevention/risk control improvements through the analysis of construction, occupancy, protection, exposures, hazards, etc.

Ensuring assignments are completed in a cost-effective, timely and productive manner in accordance with specified service standards.

Establishing positive relationships with clients and maintain strong relationships with internal staff and external service providers.

Coaching, training and developing team members and providing timely feedback to achieve department objectives.

To join our team:

A degree or diploma in Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.

Knowledge of NFPA standards and relevant fire and building codes are required.

Risk Management and Insurance experience in the Construction segment is preferable.

Knowledge of casualty loss prevention (liability) is required.

Knowledge of auto risk evaluation is an asset.

A minimum of 10 years of experience within the insurance industry is preferable.

CIP and/or CRM designation preferred.

What to expect:

You are required to have a valid driver's license and insurance.

You will travel occasionally.

Detail oriented work that requires a high degree of mental concentration for extended periods of time.

You will provide support to clients who are experiencing a personal or financial loss. A high degree of confidentiality and discretion is required.
