Risk Manager/Sustainability Policy and Climate

Lead the regional Rabo AgriFinance path towards a measurable, practical, and coordinated action plan on managing risk and opportunities related to climate impact and mitigation. Help agriculture producers establish baseline measurements towards more sustainable and climate smart agriculture.

As a Risk Manager/Sustainability Policy and Climate, you will be successful in identifying climate risk and mitigation opportunities for Rabo AgriFinance, driving consensus between global and regional policy implications, and establishing client specific baseline and periodical metrics and measurement tools.

The Risk Manager/Sustainability Policy and Climate is responsible for providing leadership in working with the RAF and Rabobank overall internal and external stakeholders to identify solutions that address the North America regional climate related risk and mitigation opportunities and global sustainability policy of Rabobank.

Job Responsibilities:

Sustainability Policy

In collaboration with Rural Global Sustainability, manage, rollout, and further develop the Rural Client Photo (RCP) assessment methodology

Provide continuous RCP training to RAF front office (Relationship Managers, Financial Analysist, Business Development Managers) and other relevant business functions.

Act as the first point of contact and the regional representative for global sustainability policy revisions and discussion forums.

Coordinate with critical internal regional stakeholders\xe2\x80\x99 feedback to revisions of the global sustainability policy and help identify common ground.

Closely collaborate with the RAF Communications team on internal and client facing messaging emerging from sustainability policy revisions, as needed.

Climate Risk and Mitigation

Represent the regional RAF position on Climate Risk in relevant internal (regional and global) and external discussion forums in collaboration with Wholesale.

Play a key member role in the regional Climate Risk Working Group.

Identify and rollout baseline measurement assessment for clients located in climate critical subregions of the US and Canada and assessment methodology for potential future impact.

Develop client focused mitigation strategies

Identify or develop client focused carbon footprint measurement methodologies for market segments outside animal protein.

Assist the RAF Communications and Rabobank Research teams with analyses, storytelling, and relevant climate educational or promotional material.

Your Promise to Us

To be considered for the Risk Manager/Sustainability Policy and Climate role, you must have

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or equivalent combination of studies and experience in either business, sustainability, finance, economics, agribusiness or related discipline

Proven project management capabilities and working well in teams

Ability to travel 30%

Minimum 7+ year of experience within climate related work or sustainability

At least 5-year experience in agriculture production or related field

Experience in developing sustainability and/or climate based innovative solutions

Experience working directly with US farmers and ranchers

Experience leading cross functional efforts

You should have:

Ability to think strategically and apply core banking finance knowledge in identifying opportunities to meet customer goals.

Strong communication at all levels both written and verbal.

Ability to maintain strong relationships with key internal and external clients.

Ability to articulate new ideas and formulate new processes.

Ability to work towards timeframes and manage client expectations.

Strong planning and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and plan workflow.

Salary Expectations:

Target Hiring Range: $115,000 - $150,000

This position is subject to the terms of [RAF/Rabobank/RDS]\xe2\x80\x99s compensation plans and policies. It is anticipated that the position will pay within the target hiring range. The range is reflective of the desired primary physical work location and may be adjusted outside of the projected range based on geographical differentiation if the actual work location of the hired candidate differs from the desired primary location, or for other lawful reasons. Further, all full-time regular position includes all other benefits provided to [RAF/Rabobank/RDS] employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
