Job Description

"Home sharing, or co-residency is where a person supports a person with a disability to live in their own home. Home sharers, or co-residents, receive a salary and free or subsidised accommodation in exchange for the support they provide to the person with a disability with whom they're sharing a home."

We are currently seeking a Home Share Provider to provide live-in services to a male individual with a developmental disability, in his home. The successful applicant will receive a generous compensation package that includes free room and board (food not included) and income of $3000.00 + an additional $1000.00 in respite funds to be used for respite or as additional income.

This young man enjoys volunteering in his community, going for walks, shopping, and to Starbucks. At home he enjoys playing with his toys, assisting with meal preparation, playing games and watching TV.

What we offer:



$3000.00 per month $1000.00 additional respite funds to be used for respite or as additional income. Free rent that includes utilities, internet, and basic cable. 1 underground parking spot

Expected Hours of Work:



The successful applicant will provide 24-hour support to the individual 7 days per week with 30 hours of time off between Mon-Thur when the individual is with his CI worker and 8 hours off on Sunday when the individual is with his family. The respite funding can be used to pay a respite provider for additional time off during the week.

Bright, open spaces with plenty of windows and sunlight Living room has a gas fireplace Kitchen has new stainless steel appliances 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Live-in support worker will have their own bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom is spacious, with plenty of lighting. In-suite laundry A balcony to enjoy those beautiful summer days

Basic Requirements:



Completed home study Three references (relative/friend/business/former employer) Criminal record check Current First Aide Certification Class 5 Drivers License Non-Violent Crisis Training or Mandt Training Have had at least 1 year working with individuals with intellectual and behavioral challenges
There will be a transitional period before the move-in date with an opportunity to get to know the client better beforehand.
