Retail Services Representative (Seasonal)

This is a seasonal, hourly position (up to 40 hours per week) with flexible hours, including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Creating the future vision for one of Winnipeg's most prized treasures, Assiniboine Park Conservancy (APC) located at 55 Pavilion Crescent in Winnipeg is the not-for-profit organization that oversees Assiniboine Park's operations and ensures its ongoing redevelopment and financial viability. Our team is inspired to create and deliver extraordinary experiences for the people who visit and use the Park and Zoo including building friendly, supportive, effective relationships with stakeholders, community and the general public.

The Opportunity

APC is seeking enthusiastic Retail Services Representatives who will work within our various retail outlets in the park, including the Zoo and the spectacular landmark of The Leaf. Retail Services Representatives will ensure extraordinary member and visitor experiences by actively promoting and directly selling products in APC's retail outlets. Retail Services Representatives will work diligently to provide warm, friendly, and attentive service.

Required Qualifications and Experience

1 year of related experience in a retail outlet preferred. Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and balancing sales preferred. Experience with displays and merchandising considered an asset. Proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and good excellent keyboard skills. Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to resolve customer issues or complaints. Experience with tracking and managing inventory control. Highly effective sales and interpersonal skills in order to quickly build rapport and provide extraordinary experiences to Zoo and Park visitors. Ability to speak additional languages considered an asset. Candidates must be physically capable of safely performing the duties of the position which includes standing for long periods of time, working in all types of weather, and lifting up to 40lbs.
