With the additions of soft serve, coffee service, vinyl records, lifestyle items and grocery as well as a second location in Killarney established in 2010, Lukes aims to offer a one-stop shop for everyday living.

The Retail Store Manager (Killarney) owns day-to-day operations, people leadership and financial performance for an assigned location, while supporting cross-store needs. Success looks like an engaged team, accurate inventory and pricing, a safe and welcoming store and consistent delivery on quality, sales, margin and labor targets. Some weekends and evenings are required for training and emergency shift coverage.

Key Responsibilities:



Working closely with Lukes leadership team, you will be responsible for the following:

Lead hiring, onboarding, training and coaching; set clear expectations and hold the team accountable Manage weekly team schedules, triage emergency call-outs, and step in for coverage when required Model exceptional customer service on the floor and handle escalations Maintain merchandising, cleanliness and general retail standards Ensure all deliveries are received into the POS system promptly with accurate costs and margins; keep shelf labels and barcodes accurate Forecast and order to par, reduce outs and waste, and coordinate vendors Manage inter-store transfers and supply counts Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed; work closely with Bridgeland ordering team to provide low-stock notice for collective orders and stock transfer requests Maintain cash controls, deposits, and cash handling compliance Provide weekly and monthly reporting to leadership team as requested Triage maintenance requests and coordinate service vendors Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining and tracking compliance checklists

Role Requirements:



3+ years retail management experience Exceptional customer service skills Ability and willingness to lead by example Strong computer proficiency and math skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and thrive in a dynamic retail environment Strong communication skills and a calm, professional demeanor Strong problem-solving capability POS experience Experienced with inventory management, pricing strategies, and receiving processes Google Workspace and Slack proficiency is an asset Knowledge of Alberta employment standards Ability to lift up to 40 lb and stand for long periods of time Barista experience is an asset Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is preferred Availability for emergency shift coverage and occasional evening and weekends for staff training or special events is required
