The Role
As the first point of contact for many of our valued customers and donors, the ReStore Cash & Customer Service Associate plays a key role in delivering a welcoming and seamless in-store experience.
The ideal candidate will be a dependable, energetic, and community-minded individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-based environment. They will assist with front-line sales transactions, field inquiries across various channels such as telephone and email, support donation logistics, and help maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing storefront. As a proud ambassador for the Habitat ReStore, this role directly contributes to our mission of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
Duties and Responsibilities
Greet customers and donors in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
Process sales and returns accurately using our POS system.
Respond to phone and email inquiries, including questions about inventory, donation guidelines, and more.
Assist with merchandise inquiries, including product location, pricing, and availability.
Daily cash reconciliation and prepare bank deposits.
Ensure shelves and displays are tidy, organized, and regularly restocked.
Accept and sort donations at the drop-off area as needed, following established guidelines.
Help load purchased items into customer vehicles when needed.
Set up and maintain in-store displays, signage, and featured items.
Always keep the store clean and presentable, including regular sweeping, dusting, and general tidying.
Monitor for safety hazards and report any concerns promptly.
Support warehouse and salvage team activities, such as moving inventory to the floor or staging items.
Participate in special sales events or promotional activities as needed.
Process purchases and returns using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Qualifications and Skills
A positive attitude and a genuine interest in helping others.
Friendly, approachable, and comfortable working with people of various backgrounds and demographics.
Highly punctual and dependable.
Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Comfortable using technology such as POS and logistics software.
Physically able to stand for long periods and frequently lift/move items up to 50lbs.
Ability to work flexible hours.
Previous retail or customer experience is an asset.
Experience working in volunteer organization is an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
