The Restaurant Supervisor/Server is responsible for ensuring a dining experience that consistently meets and exceeds guest expectations. This role combines guest service leadership, staff coordination, and operational responsibilities to maintain efficient restaurant operations. The role oversees servers, monitors service quality, resolves guest concerns, and ensures all brand standards are met.
Certification Requirement:
Smart Serve Training Program Certificate is required.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Operations
Greet, seat, and take food and beverage orders from guests.
Process guest payments accurately and efficiently.
Ensure tables are set to brand standards, with all items clean, undamaged, and in proper condition.
Maintain knowledge of all food, beverage, and service offerings.
Assist with menu changes, POS programming, and reservations management.
Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries and complaints.
Provide general information about hotel services as needed.
Team Leadership & Staff Supervision
Train staff to work professionally, efficiently, and in accordance with brand standards.
Assign duties and sections to servers to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor staff performance and service quality during shifts.
Ensure staff adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and union guidelines.
Schedule staff within budgeted hours and assist with payroll tasks.
Operational & Administrative Duties
Conduct monthly inventory of glassware, tableware, cutlery, and liquor.
Issue liquor, beer, and wine to the bar, and maintain accurate inventory records.
Take part in daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments to maintain a safe and tidy work environment.
Cash out, balance, and reconcile cash and credit transactions at the end of each shift.
Provide operational reports to the Chef and Food & Beverage Manager.
Assist management with scheduling, staffing, and other operational duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, carry, push, reach, and place objects weighing 25 lbs or more.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous restaurant or food & beverage experience preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Guest-service focused with problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
