Alo Food Group is seeking a full time Restaurant Manager. The ideal candidate in this role has unquestionable hospitality, a passion for all things food and beverage, and the ability to focus in a fast paced environment.



Open availability, strong reliability, and experience in elevated or fine dining restaurants is highly preferred. Formal wine training such as WSET Level 3 or comparable experience with wine is an asset.



The Alo Food Group creates and operates restaurants of regard in Toronto. Since the opening of Alo -- our fine-dining flagship -- in 2015, we have aimed to make luxuries approachable while elevating time-honoured favourites. We offer our guests a continuing relationship in venues where the deliciousness of the food is met by a passion for hospitality. Along with Alo, our portfolio of restaurants includes Aloette (2017); Alobar Yorkville (2018); Salon (2019), an intimate space for private dining, and Alobar Downtown (2023).

Responsibilities:



Works in tandem with the General Manager to ensure standards of service are exceeded daily. Assist the FOH Management team in placing orders for wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages. Assist the FOH Management team in completely monthly inventories of wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverage items. Guides Front of House staff during service hours while maintaining strong communication with the Chef de Cuisine and kitchen team. Ability to confidently recommend wine and cocktail offerings, perform wine service. Delegates tasks to hourly staff and ensure the standards of cleanliness are upheld. Assists hourly team during service including bussing tables, running food, and seating guests. Takes initiative to ensure team members are prepared ahead of busy seatings, has foresight into the flow of service. Ensures all checklists are completed by the hourly team before and after service. End of Day reporting. Monitoring of guests inquiries over the phone and via the general inbox. Comfortable with reservations management and ability to change the floor plan to maximise cover counts. Offers valuable feedback to hourly staff when appropriate. Recognizes regulars and VIPs, strives to make all new guests into regulars.
Key Skills & Qualifications:

Experience in an elevated dining or Michelin recognized restaurant highly preferred. WSET level 2-3 or comparable wine experience highly preferred. Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining priorities. Leadership or supervisory experience. Knowledge of international ingredients and cooking techniques. Experience with TouchBistro & OpenTable. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to upholding a safe and inclusive work environment for all staff.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
