General Manager
to lead our team, oversee daily operations, and ensure an exceptional guest experience. This role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and a passion for great food and service.
Location: Texas Barbecue of Canada, 7931 Highway 17, Desbarats, Ontario P0R1E0
Compensation: Competitive salary or hourly + performance-based bonuses
Hours: Full-time, must have weekend and evening availability.
Job Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, motivate, and support front-of-house and back-of-house staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Foster a positive and professional work environment, encouraging teamwork and high performance.
Hire, train, and develop employees to maintain high standards of service and food quality.
Supervise all employees.
Guest Experience & Service Standards
Ensure outstanding hospitality by upholding service and quality standards.
Address customer concerns with professionalism and a solution-focused approach.
Utilize customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Financial & Business Operations
Oversee cost controls to maximize profitability.
Track and analyze sales performance, labor costs, and food expenses to meet financial goals.
Implement strategies to drive revenue growth, including promotions and community engagement.
Restaurant Efficiency & Compliance
Ensure adherence to food safety, health, and labor regulations.
Maintain high cleanliness and organization standards in all areas of the restaurant.
Monitor inventory, order supplies, and work with vendors to control costs and reduce waste.
Marketing & Community Engagement
Represent the brand in the local community by building relationships and promoting events.
Collaborate with ownership to develop and implement marketing strategies.
Support social media efforts and in-store promotions to increase guest traffic.
The Manager We Need is:
Experienced
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, or senior leadership role in the food industry.
High-energy & hands-on
- Customer service is #1, Employee service is a close 2nd, leading by example, and motivating a team.
Passionate about great food and hospitality
- Committed to delivering exceptional food and outstanding customer service, and building community connections. Culinary experience is a plus.
Business-minded
- Understands restaurant operations, financials, and marketing strategies.
A team builder
- Knows how to inspire, coach, and retain talent.
Problem solver
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment, adapts to challenges, and finds solutions.
