The Five Fishermen is seeking a hands-on General Manager to own day-to-day excellence while steering growth, guest satisfaction, and profitability--

in the dining room and the community.
What you'll do
Run daily operations with a visible floor presence and calm, professional leadership.
Be the face of the brand:
greet tables, host VIPs, handle media/PR moments, represent us at industry events, and nurture community and partner relationships.
Set strategy and measurable goals for growth, guest experience, and profitability.
Build and manage budgets; control COGS, labour, and operating expenses to maximize EBITDA.
Establish clear policies, SOPs, and service standards; ensure consistent execution.
Recruit, onboard, schedule, and develop a high-performance team.
Coach, assess, and performance-manage staff and leaders; conduct regular check-ins and reviews.
Monitor sales mix and KPIs; analyze trends and implement improvements.
Safeguard compliance with health & safety, food safety, and alcohol service regulations.
Resolve issues quickly (profit dips, guest recovery, team conflicts, competitive pressures).
Partner with Corporate on reporting, forecasting, and quarterly reviews.
Collaborate on marketing, social presence, and community outreach to grow covers and average check.
What you bring
5+ years
of management in
fine dining / premium casual
, with multi-shift leadership.
Proven ability to
lead, coach, and hold teams accountable
while building culture.
A polished, guest-forward presence--comfortable with VIP hosting, media opportunities, and community engagement.
Strong
financial acumen
(budgeting, P&L, labour planning, inventory controls).
Excellent
communication and guest-recovery
skills; poised under pressure.
Organized, detail-driven, and adaptable to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Solid
Food Safety and alcohol service certifications; OHS familiarity.
Experience with reservation, POS, and scheduling platforms.
Local vendor/culinary scene awareness and event/programming experience.
