A propos du poste :

En tant que Responsable Produit (PM) chez OPAL-RT, et relevant du Directeur Strategie Produits et Investissements, vous serez le gardien de la vision produit, champion technique pour le marche, et acteur cle de l'evolution technologique de RT-LAB, SPS Software et ARTEMiS.



Votre mission : En etroite collaboration avec les Responsables Solution (SM), vous transformez les orientations marche en decisions produit claires : quoi construire, pourquoi cela compte et comment le livrer de maniere performante et fiable. Vous orientez la trajectoire produit et garantissez que chaque fonctionnalite livree est desirable, faisable et viable pour les leaders mondiaux de la transition energetique.



A ce carrefour strategique entre technologie, marche, donnees et usagers, vous jouez un role cle dans la capacite d'OPAL-RT a offrir les meilleures plateformes de simulation temps reel au monde. Responsabilites principales :

Vision & trajectoire produit : transformer les orientations des SM en decisions produit coherentes avec l'architecture et les objectifs. Specifications : definir des exigences claires et actionnables, integrant faisabilite, qualite et experience utilisateur. Backlog & priorisation : construire et maintenir le backlog, arbitrer les demandes clients et gerer les interdependances entre produits et programmes. Leadership collaboratif : aligner R&D, QA, SM, Marketing, Ventes, Services et Operations sur les priorites et faciliter la prise de decision. Support SM/Ventes : apporter un eclairage technique, soutenir les demonstrations et valider les besoins clients strategiques. Mise en production : preparer et piloter les mises en production, former les equipes internes et organiser les boucles de feedback. Qualite & UX : garantir performance, stabilite, ergonomie, supportabilite et documentation du produit, notamment en definissant avec SM/R&D/QA les standards de test et en validant les fonctionnalites livrees. Amelioration continue : suivre les indicateurs techniques (stabilite, dette, performance, fiabilite, maintenabilite) et proposer des optimisations.

Exigences :

Formation et experience professionnelle. Diplome universitaire en genie electrique, informatique, logiciel ou domaine connexe (maitrise un atout). Formation en gestion de produit, innovation ou marketing technologique (atout). 6+ ans en developpement logiciel, ingenierie de systemes, ou gestion de produit. Pratique des methodologies Agile/Scrum et des outils de backlog (JIRA/equivalent). Atouts : relation client, analyse de marche/concurrence, participation a des validations clients ou projets multi-equipes.

Competences techniques :

Connaissance des marches energie, transport, educationnel, recherche et de leurs principaux acteurs. Connaissance de la simulation EMT et RMS des reseaux electriques et d'electronique de puissance et des environnements temps reel ou embarques. Maitrise des architectures logicielles et materielles et des contraintes liees a des produits complexes. Capacite a collaborer efficacement avec des experts techniques (architectes, developpeurs, QA).

Competences professionnelles :

Francais obligatoire. La connaissance de l'anglais est requise pour la lecture de litterature technique disponible uniquement en anglais et la communication avec des partenaires anglophones ; etre capable de vulgariser, d'inspirer, et de s'adapter a des audiences variees, a l'interne comme a l'externe. Forte capacite de travail transversal avec influence, sans autorite hierarchique Pensee systemique et aptitude a structurer, simplifier et prioriser dans un contexte a forte complexite technique et strategique. Curiosite intellectuelle, autonomie, rigueur et gestion efficace d'un grand volume d'information. Sens analytique, resilience et diplomatie pour gerer les attentes et arbitrer entre vision, demandes clients, contraintes techniques, risque et impact strategique. Sens aigu de la qualite et de l'experience utilisateur. Disponibilite a voyager jusqu'a 5 semaines par annee.

About the Position:

As a Product Manager (PM) at OPAL-RT, reporting to the Director of Product Strategy and Investments, you will be the guardian of the product vision, the technical champion for the market, and a key contributor to the technological evolution of RT-LAB, SPS Software, and ARTEMiS.



Your mission: In close collaboration with the Solution Managers (SM), you translate market directions into clear product decisions: what to build, why it matters, and how to deliver it efficiently and reliably. You guide the product trajectory and ensure that every delivered feature is desirable, feasible, and viable for global leaders in the energy transition.



At this strategic crossroads between technology, market, data, and users, you play a key role in OPAL-RT's ability to deliver the best real-time simulation platforms in the world. Main Responsibilities:

Product vision & roadmap: transform SM directives into product decisions aligned with architecture and objectives. Specifications: define clear and actionable requirements, integrating feasibility, quality, and user experience. Backlog & prioritization: build and maintain the backlog, arbitrate customer requests, and manage interdependencies between products and programs. Collaborative leadership: align R&D, QA, SM, Marketing, Sales, Services, and Operations on priorities and support decision-making. SM/Sales support: provide technical insights, support demos, and validate strategic customer needs. Release management: prepare and lead releases, train internal teams, and organize feedback loops. Quality & UX: ensure product performance, stability, usability, supportability, and documentation, notably by defining testing standards with SM/R&D/QA and validating delivered features. Continuous improvement: monitor technical indicators (stability, debt, performance, reliability, maintainability) and propose optimizations.

Requirements :

Education and professional experience.



University degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or related field (master's an asset). Training in product management, innovation, or technology marketing (asset). 6+ years in software development, systems engineering, or product management. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and backlog tools (JIRA/equivalent). Assets: customer relations, market/competitive analysis, participating in customer validations or multi-team projects.




Technical Skills:



Knowledge of the energy, transportation, education, and research markets and their key players. Knowledge of EMT and RMS simulation of power systems and power electronics, as well as real-time or embedded environments. Mastery of software and hardware architectures and constraints related to complex products. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical experts (architects, developers, QA).

Professional Skills:

French required. English proficiency is needed to read technical literature available only in English and to communicate with English-speaking partners; ability to popularize, inspire, and adapt to diverse audiences, internally and externally. Strong ability to work cross-functionally with influence, without hierarchical authority. Systems thinking and ability to structure, simplify, and prioritize in a context of high technical and strategic complexity. Intellectual curiosity, autonomy, rigor, and effective management of large volumes of information. Analytical mindset, resilience, and diplomacy to manage expectations and arbitrate between vision, customer requests, technical constraints, risk, and strategic impact. Strong sense of quality and user experience. Availability to travel up to 5 weeks per year.
