Job Description
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and families? We invite you to join our team as a Respite Support Worker. This rewarding position provides an opportunity to offer vital care and support to individuals in need while gaining valuable experience within the healthcare and Disability Services sectors.
We are seeking dedicated caregivers to support families during the summer months, provide after-school care during the school year, and assist during holiday seasons.
Musts:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Reliable vehicle and liability insurance
Ability to transport children safely to and from activities and school
First Aid certification
Police Check with Vulnerable Sector
CFS Intervention Check
Duties:
Provide respite care for children aged 2-17 years Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals Prepare and serve meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and preferences Perform light housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe environment Support mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary Offer companionship and emotional support Plan and facilitate engaging activities tailored to each child's interests and abilities
Skills & Attributes:
Experience required Knowledge of medication administration procedures Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, empathetic, and respectful approach to care Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect client privacy
