About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Respiratory Therapist applies their knowledge, skills and judgment in the provision of diagnostic, assessment and therapeutic modalities to assist in the management of cardiorespiratory and related disorders in collaboration with the physician and other health care professionals. The Therapist will work a variety of patients including adults, children and infants. The Respiratory Therapist also participates in education of patients, families and other health care providers. Also included are technical duties related to testing, maintenance and evaluation of equipment.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Graduate of a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care Exams
  • Must hold/maintain registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
  • Current certification in BCLS and ACLS
  • Travel to other sites may be required
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Effective planning, organizing and supervising abilities
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be adaptable and flexible to adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Permanent Full-time / 100% FTE / 75 Hours Bi-weekly
  • Travel to various sites may be required
  • Shifts include days, nights, weekends and holidays
Compensation and Incentives

$29.51 - $40.46 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
