:

GBGH is looking for registered respiratory therapists who thrive as solo practitioners within a supportive healthcare team, to provide critical care services and ward based patient care. Emphasis is placed on the provision of early response critical care respiratory services and respiratory care treatment planning across the patient population spectrum. Team education regarding respiratory care services and resuscitation standards is an important job component.

Required:

• Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario and the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists
• Recent experience in an acute care facility including ED and ICU
• Proven ability to adapt to a fast paced and changing environment
• Must be able to fulfill all physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
• Must meet expectations for appropriate, respectful and professional conduct, as set out in the GBGH Code of Conduct
• Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using both oral and written format with patients, families, colleagues and the interprofessional team
• Demonstrated experience working independently and within a team setting
• Demonstrated excellent problem solving ability, critical thinking and organizational skills
• Commitment to professional growth and development of self and others
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.)
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history

Hours of Work: Permanent Casual. Mainly call in and vacation relief. Required to provide availability for a minimum of six (6) shifts per month. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the OPSEU collective agreement.

Salary: $33.00 - $45.56 an hour
