It's a unique opportunity to shape a resort's identity, inspire a dedicated team, and create unforgettable stays--all in a place that offers an incredible lifestyle both on and off the job.We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Resort Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at our picturesque resort in Prince Edward County, Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep understanding of providing outstanding guest experiences. As the Resort Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the resort's operations, ensuring a seamless, memorable experience for guests while maintaining profitability and high operational standards.

The Resort Manager should possess excellent time management skills with the ability to meet with each department team on the property, to discuss daily and weekly tasks, targets and results and expected minimum standards.
The Resort Manager should possess the tools to regularly monitor and check the performance of each department, assessing performance, administer corrective course action and make changes as required.

Key Responsibilities:



Operations Management:



Oversee the day-to-day operations of the resort, including guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, food and beverage, and recreational activities. Ensure that all resort facilities (accommodations, amenities, and recreational offerings) are in excellent condition, with regular inspections and proactive maintenance. Manage the resort's booking system, ensuring that guest reservations are efficiently handled and check-in/check-out processes run smoothly. Monitor and adjust staffing levels to ensure the resort operates effectively, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management of staff.

Guest Experience & Customer Service:



Develop and implement strategies to exceed guest expectations, ensuring high satisfaction levels and positive reviews. Handle guest complaints, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of guest retention. Create and implement unique guest experiences and programs (e.g., seasonal events, themed dinners, wellness activities) to enhance the resort's appeal.

Financial Management:



Develop and manage the resort's annual budget, including forecasting revenue and controlling operating costs. Monitor and analyze financial performance, implementing corrective actions to ensure the resort meets its financial goals. Prepare financial reports for ownership and senior management, identifying areas for cost savings and potential growth opportunities.

Marketing & Sales:



Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute marketing campaigns to attract guests to the resort, including online and offline promotional activities. Build relationships with corporate clients, travel agents, and event planners to increase bookings and maximize revenue opportunities. Develop and manage packages, promotions, and special offers to drive occupancy during peak and off-peak seasons.

Staff Management & Training:



Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team, ensuring a positive work environment and high employee morale. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for staff to enhance skills and performance. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to encourage employee growth and maintain high service standards.

Safety & Compliance:



Ensure compliance with all health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, trends, and best practices to keep the resort competitive. Oversee the implementation of safety procedures, including emergency plans and protocols for guests and staff.

Community & Vendor Relations:



Foster strong relationships with local businesses, suppliers, and the surrounding community to support the resort's operations. Manage vendor contracts for services, supplies, and equipment, ensuring cost-effective and timely deliveries.

Qualifications:



Education:

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in resort management. Proven experience in managing staff, budgets, and operations at a resort or similar hospitality property.

Skills:



o Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse teams.

o Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

o Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

o Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

o Knowledge of hospitality software systems (e.g., reservation systems, POS, housekeeping management).

Working Conditions:



Full-time position with on-call responsibilities. Evening, weekend, and holiday hours may be required.
