Job Description

Key Responsibilities


Ensure that line integrators and welding equipment suppliers deliver products that meet company specifications. Participate in throughput analysis and continuous process improvements. Collaborate closely with Product Engineering, Material Suppliers, Equipment Suppliers, and Equipment Integrators. Drive teams to meet vehicle program timelines while upholding quality standards. Manage and maintain tracking documents to align with program timing requirements. Support issue resolution among Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Plant Operations. Verify product conformance to design requirements. Provide on-site support during execution and launch phases. Assist with integration, start-up, and debugging of plant floor resistance spot welding equipment. Coordinate process improvements and re-engineering initiatives. Report regularly on system performance at operating units. Optimize resistance spot welding systems to improve productivity, reduce cost, and enhance quality. Partner with engineers, skilled trades, and managers on cross-functional projects. Provide project cost and timing estimates while supporting plant product launches. Implement standardized resistance spot welding and inspection systems across plants. Develop and maintain common technology standards for resistance spot welding. Offer technical guidance to suppliers and internal plant teams. Conduct equipment buyoffs to ensure compliance and readiness.

Required Qualifications


High School Diploma (minimum). 5+ years of experience in resistance spot welding. Strong technical knowledge of resistance spot welding technologies and applications. Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems related to welding equipment. Familiarity with adhesives, sealers, weld documentation, and build shop support. Skilled in tooling and equipment troubleshooting. Knowledge of safe operating practices within a manufacturing environment. Strong cross-functional communication skills for complex technical issues. Proven problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills. Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to manage multiple assignments under pressure with composure and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications


4+ years of automotive industry experience, specifically supporting launch activities in body shop and plant environments. In-depth understanding of automotive body shop processes. * Ability to design and execute validation projects in areas lacking standardized work.
