Role: Resistance Spot Welding Specialist
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Resistance Spot Welding Specialist will support our client's vehicle assembly process engineering organization. You will provide launch, sustainment and Innovation support to all assembly plants in the North America region.
"Daily tasks include:
Ensure that line integrators and resistance spot welding equipment suppliers are delivering a product that meets the company's resistance spot welding equipment specs within the North America region.
Participate in throughput analysis and processes.
Work closely with Product Engineering, Material Suppliers, Equipment Suppliers, Equipment Integrators, etc.
Enable team to meet vehicle timeline deliverables on time while maintaining quality requirements
Manage tracking documents to meet program timing requirements
Support problem resolution between Product Eng, Manufacturing Eng, and Plant Manufacturing Operations
Ensure product conformance to design
Provide onsite support during execution and launch phases of the program
Support in the integration, start-up and debug of plant floor Resistance spot weld equipment
Coordinate business process and re-engineering projects
Report-out as needed, on status of systems at operating unit(s)
Optimize operating unit(s) on Resistance spot weld system to improve productivity, cost and quality
Work with other engineers, skilled trades and managers to accomplish cross-functional projects, provide project cost and timing estimates, and support plant product program launches
Implement common Resistance spot weld and inspection systems
Develop and support common Resistance spot weld Technology standards
Provide technical direction to suppliers and internal plant teams.
Conduct Resistance spot weld equipment buyoffs"
"Required Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High School Diploma
Minimum 5 years of resistance spot welding experience
Deep understanding of resistance spot weld technologies and applications
Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in Resistance spot weld systems
Knowledge of adhesive and sealer procedures, weld/resistance spot weld documentation and build shop support
Knowledge of Tooling and Equipment Troubleshooting
knowledge of safe operating procedures within a manufacturing environment
Exceptional cross-functional communication skills of complex issues
Strong problem solving skills
Strong organization and project management skills
Intermediate skills in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to manage a multitude of assignments with high levels of composure and effective implementation."

2+ years in Automotive industry, supporting launch activities in body shop and plants
thorough understanding of automotive body shop processes
* Ability to create & execute a well-organized validation project where standardized work is not available."
