Job Description

SmartICE is looking for a Resilience Coordinator

playing a key supportive role in strengthening the wellness, belonging, and success of SmartICE's Northern Indigenous team members. This position focuses on creating the conditions for psychological and cultural safety, promoting retention, and helping employees stay engaged and supported in their work by addressing barriers that impact meaningful employment participation.



Working under the guidance of the Manager of Community Impact Strategy, the Resilience Coordinator supports individual employees and the organization as a whole to build resilience, enhance communication, and foster a culture grounded in respect, empathy, and understanding of diverse lived experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a collaborative environment.


What you will do:



Develop trusting relationships and offer supportive check-ins to identify strengths, needs, and growth or accommodation opportunities. Facilitate life skills and wellness workshops focused on confidence, communication, stress management, and resilience. Support employees in navigating systemic challenges and foster an environment of respect, value, and belonging. Connect staff with external resources such as counseling, health, family, financial, or housing supports. Assist employees in creating action plans to address challenges (e.g., workload stress, communication, housing, or community supports). Provide feedback to leadership on systemic barriers and recommend strategies to improve inclusion, retention, and wellness. Promote cross-cultural understanding and respectful communication between Northern and Southern staff. Collaborate with leadership to ensure policies and programs reflect cultural awareness, trauma-informed practice, and Indigenous ways of knowing. Model healthy boundaries, self-care, and open dialogue about mental health and resilience. Offer short-term interventions during periods of stress or conflict and guide employees to appropriate resources. Track behavioural and attitudinal changes to evaluate intervention effectiveness. Develop or review social-emotional learning curricula and liaise with youth support professionals to enhance wrap-around supports. Work with HR, Community Impact Strategy, and program leads to identify trends, emerging needs, and opportunities for improvement. Provide guidance or supervision to social work interns as needed. Maintain program data for evaluation and reporting, and share insights that enhance organizational learning, retention, and employee wellness. Participate in reflection and learning activities that advance SmartICE's community-centered employment and wellness approach.

SmartICE is looking for people who:



Recently completed a degree in Social Work, Social Service Worker, Community Development, or a related field or have 5 years of relevant experience. Are living in the North or have significant experience working with Northern Communities. Lived experience as Indigenous is considered an asset Experience in youth engagement, mental wellness, or employment support in Indigenous communities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with youth, community organizations, and program staff. Understanding of cultural safety, trauma-informed practices, and Indigenous ways of knowing. Ability to work independently while being a supportive team player. Experience with program evaluation and data collection is an asset. Willingness and ability to travel Can work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with Google suite.
