We are looking for a reliable and experienced residential support worker with strong housekeeping skills. Meal preparation skills are an asset for this position. We prefer someone with previous experience and a positive attitude.
Provide support to adults clients of all ages in their daily living routines in various community settings
Facilitate wellness and recreational activities to support the wellbeing of a diverse clientele in various community settings
Execute tasks aligned with company\xe2\x80\x99s policies and procedures
May be assigned other duties as required
Minimum qualifications and skills
Community support worker or health care aide certification or equivalent is an asset
Experience with mental health and/ or addictions is an asset
Demonstrate a good working knowledge of the technical details important to the functioning of supportive housing programs
At least 1 year of experience working with vulnerable young adults and of diverse background (required)
Experience working with individuals at risk/ experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, addictions, chronic illnesses, trauma, or in vulnerable circumstances (required)
Competence working with computers
Updated First Aid/ CPR (required)
Non-violent crisis intervention training desirable
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice
Knowledge of harm reduction
Knowledge of Mental Health First Aid
Knowledge of WHIMIS
Knowledge of Food Safety Basics
Knowledge of Indigenous cultural diversity and Canadian multicultural context, LGBTQ2S competent
Knowledge of community resources
Clear police check for the vulnerable sector (required)
Recent negative TB test and updated immunizations preferred
Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and reliable vehicle (required)
