Queens County Residential Services is a non-profit organization that has openings for casual positions available for individuals looking to support adults with intellectual disabilities in daily living, and the development of life skills in a caring and nurturing environment. Supplement your income by working flexible hours including a combination of days, evenings, weekends and overnights, and based on your availability to work, either a few hours or up to 48 hours a week.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ideal candidates will have post-secondary training from a recognised community college program or currently enrolled in such a program such as:

- Human Services

- Youth Care Worker

- RCW

- Other related health and social service education and experience such as:

Nursing, personal care worker, social service work, social work, university degree and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience working in the Human Services field.

As well as:

-First Aid training

-Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training

- Transfer Lift and Reposition (TLR) training

-A valid PEI driving license, and access to a vehicle for work purposes

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care and support to residents in a residential setting. Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation and personal hygiene. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents' health conditions. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being. Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop and implement care plans. Utilize First Aid and NVCI techniques as needed to ensure the safety of residents.
