The Position
The
Supervisor of Direct Supports
is directly accountable to the Program Manager to work directly on site, for the purpose of supporting, coordinating, establishing, organizing, monitoring, and responding to the overall daily operations of an enriched service for persons who have unique, challenging support needs.
Using a strong leadership acumen, the Supervisor of Direct Supports is dedicated to supporting the individuals and leading a team to implement positive interventions and intensive supports in order to facilitate optimal outcomes for the individuals with complex support needs.
In this role, you will utilize your highly developed intervention and leadership skills to provide intense support for skill development and implementation of intervention plans that will facilitate the optimal functioning of individuals with complex support needs, and will train and assist staff to optimize these skills. The successful candidate will provide support to individuals and their teams through advocacy, skill training, and community education.
This position ensures that the supervision, training and personal support provided meets the individual's needs. With exceptional communication skills, the Supervisor of Direct Supports is also responsible for liaising with government departments, family and other related community support agencies, ensuring that services provided are of the maximum possible benefit to the individual and that services are operated in accordance with standards as set down by Etana, Disability Services and CARF Accreditation Standards.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
3 years experience working in human services including developmental disabilities, dual diagnosis/mental health, complex needs, addictions
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Class 5 drivers license and reliable vehicle
Clear Vulnerable Sector check

Training in support approaches for individuals with addictions and schizophrenia would be considered an asset
