Job Summary

The Residential Instructor plays a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals in a residential setting. This position is responsible for fostering a safe and nurturing environment, promoting personal growth, and facilitating skill development among residents. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and possess the ability to build positive relationships with residents.

Duties

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores. Develop and implement individualized plans that promote skill acquisition and independence. Facilitate group activities that encourage social interaction, teamwork, and community engagement. Monitor resident behavior and provide appropriate interventions as needed to ensure a safe environment. Maintain accurate documentation of resident progress and incidents as required by organizational policies. Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive support system for residents. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to residents and team members. Patience and empathy when working with individuals who may have varying levels of needs and challenges. Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. University experience is preferred, providing a solid foundation for understanding developmental needs and educational strategies. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating initiative when necessary.
