Job Summary

Barr Homes is seeking a skilled and versatile

Residential Construction Carpenter

to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in

rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and service work

, along with a broad range of residential construction skills. This position requires attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Perform

rough carpentry tasks

such as framing, sheathing, blocking, and deck construction. Carry out

finish carpentry

including trim, doors, cabinetry, stairs, and detailed interior work. Complete

service and warranty work

, diagnosing and repairing construction deficiencies as needed. Conduct caulking, painting, and general finishing to ensure high-quality workmanship. Engage in general construction and restoration tasks as needed across multiple project sites. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently. Assist with minor plumbing, electrical, siding, and roofing work when required. Collaborate with team members and site supervisors to ensure projects are completed on schedule. Perform physical labour duties as necessary, including lifting and material handling.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in

rough and finish carpentry

in residential construction. Strong background in

service and warranty work

, with problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Knowledge of Tarion's new home construction would be an asset Reading and understanding construction drawings. Skilled in the safe use of hand tools and power tools. Knowledge of roofing, siding, caulking, plumbing, and electrical basics is an asset. Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or within a team. Physical stamina and strength to perform construction-related tasks. Previous maintenance or renovation experience is highly valued.

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
