The Position
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, youth, and adults with behavioural challenges? We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Child and Youth Worker (RCYW
)
to join our 24-hour resource in Enderby, BC.
As an RCYW, you will support individuals with moderate to severe behavioural needs in a safe, structured, and culturally responsive environment. You will play a key role in promoting their overall development, well-being, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and support to children, youth, or adults in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, well-being, and dignity.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and monitor individualized care, safety, and support plans.
Assess and respond to the physical, emotional, psychological, social, and developmental needs of individuals served.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and therapeutic environment by applying

principles in daily practice.
Plan and facilitate recreational, cultural, and life-skills activities that promote engagement, growth, and positive development.
Participate in crisis prevention and intervention, advocacy efforts, and ongoing care planning to support long-term success.
Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the residence, contributing to a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the program, school, family, and community partners to support holistic care.
Support the physical well-being of individuals served by assisting with personal hygiene (if required), mobility, and other activities of daily living.
Administer medications in accordance with established policies, procedures, and individual care plans.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including logbooks, daily reports, and statistical records related to the care and progress of individuals served.
Perform household duties such as meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and other tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable living space.
Accompany individuals to medical appointments, recreational outings, and community activities, providing supervision and support as needed.

Mandatory Pre-Employment Screenings
All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of the mandatory screenings required by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).
Applicants who have resided in any country after the age of 18 are required to provide a Criminal Record Check from each country in which they have lived.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
2- year experience working with individuals with behavioural or complex needs is preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work flexible shifts in a 24-hour care environment.
First Aid/CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) or MANDT
Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and clean driver's abstract
