The Group Home Worker provides direct care and support to individuals living in a group home environment. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, promoting independence, implementing behaviour support plans, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and respectful atmosphere. The ideal candidate demonstrates compassion, professionalism, and a commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with personal care, hygiene, meals, medication, and daily living activities.
Support residents in achieving personal goals and inclusive community participation.
Implement behaviour support strategies through trauma-informed approaches.
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the care team.
Promote dignity, inclusion, and informed choice for all residents.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in CYW, SSW or Developmental Services preferred
Experience with developmental disabilities, mental health, or behavioural support (asset)
Valid First Aid/CPR (Level C)
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or UMAB (preferred)
Medication Administration training (asset)
Valid Class G Driver's License (required)
2 million liability insurance (required)
