Summary:



As the

Resident Relations Receptionist

, you serve as the first point of contact for residents, families, and visitors - fostering a warm, professional, and inclusive atmosphere. This role requires exceptional communication skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to thrive in a busy environment where multitasking and sound judgment are essential.

The ideal candidate brings demonstrated experience working with

seniors,

including those living with

dementia

or other cognitive differences, and is knowledgeable in

trauma-informed

approaches. Experience in

healthcare, clinical, or seniors-care setting

is strongly preferred.

You are highly organized, attentive to detail, and able to anticipate needs and proactively resolve issues, ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive experience for residents, families and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities



Provide welcoming, compassionate front-line service to residents, families, and visitors, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times. Support residents with cognitive or mobility challenges using patience, empathy, and trauma-informed practices. Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, balancing phone, email, and in-person inquiries with administrative accuracy. Schedule appointments, tours, and transportation; coordinate with nursing and recreation teams as needed. Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and reports to support communication across departments. Assist with basic clinical and administrative coordination (e.g., appointment tracking, forms, visitor sign-ins, resident records). Process cash and credit transactions; complete daily reconciliations. Uphold privacy standards and resident dignity consistent with organizational and Fraser Health guidelines. Participate in ongoing training and continuous-improvement initiatives related to seniors care, dementia awareness, and customer service excellence.

Skills and Qualifications



Education:

Post-secondary diploma or certificate in administration, customer service, or health-care office support (or equivalent combination of education and experience.)

Experience:

Minimum three years' experience in a

seniors-care, retirement, or clinical setting

preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of

dementia care, trauma-informed approaches,

and customer service best practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent spoken and written English. High proficiency in

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

and familiarity with electronic record systems. Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure in a dynamic environment. Compassionate, respectful, and resident-focused demeanor. Clear

Criminal Record Check

and

recent TB test

(per Fraser Health standards).
