We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented
Resident Engineer
to join our team in Brechin. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting various engineering and operational functions, including proposal development, supplier management, logistics coordination, R&D and FEA initiatives. This is a dynamic position ideal for an experienced engineer who is looking to contribute across multiple departments in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the engineering department with interpreting and responding to
Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
Coordinate with
design engineers
on technical documentation and deliverables
Prepare and coordinate
both technical and commercial proposals for clients
Support
purchasing and logistics teams
in sourcing suppliers and materials. Produce regular
project progress reports
for internal and external stakeholders
Prepare, review, and provide feedback on
SolidWorks drawings
Participate in
Research & Development
projects and support innovation initiatives
Perform FEA analysis on components
Manage
movement of goods
, including shipping, receiving, and internal transfers
Source suppliers
, obtain and evaluate
quotes
, and negotiate terms
Monitor
inventory levels
, ensuring timely procurement and restocking using company's MRP.
Track
shipments
and resolve delivery or customs issues when needed
Evaluate suppliers
based on cost, quality, delivery time, and service
Qualifications:
A Bachelor degree in Engineering with P.Eng. A Master's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline) will be given preferential consideration
Minimum of
3 years of relevant engineering experience
Proficient in
SolidWorks
and technical documentation
Strong understanding of
supply chain
and logistics processes
Proven ability to
coordinate across departments
and collaborate within teams
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Willingness to
relocate to Orillia/Beaverton, (Ontario) area
